Music was a large part of Eddie’s life. Our group was able to give him a vehicle for enjoying his violin along with other musicians for at least the last 33 years of his life.
He joined our orchestra early on and featured as its leader from 1975 as we performed small concerts, then as we became a pit orchestra playing for 32 shows in Auckland over 16 years. After 1989 we reverted to being a concert orchestra with Eddie as Joe’s right hand man.
Eddie was a real gentleman and a great musician with a wealth of musical knowledge and experience behind him. He had an amazing fund of memories and stories to tell from the years before we ever knew him and he did get a gorgeous tone out of that violin.
Eddie and Joe had a great rapport and they made a successful team for many years.
